Latin Grammy nominee celebrates the bachata

Fans and bachata lovers gathered at MacEwan Hall to see the artist perform

Bachata – a mixture of song, dance and music from the Dominican Republic. It comes together as rhythmically a strong melody and is considered a very sensual dance because of the waist and lower body movements. Prince Royce sang the nostalgic feeling of his lyrics and showed loving animosity of his bachata to Calgarians on Friday, Feb. 15.

He came out on stage and the euphoric crowd started singing along to his lyrics. With a simple outfit – pink shades, white jacket, black shirt and pants, an old school hairstyle; his particular voice was a feature that made the crowd jump and yell "Te Amo" which means "I love you" in Spanish.
