Hundreds gather in support of Standing Rock

Calgarians of all ages gather at Olympic Plaza in a show of solidarity for protesters at Standing Rock Indian Reservation

On a frigid winter's evening, hundreds of Calgarians of all stripes came together Dec. 1 to support those protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline at the Standing Rock reserve, which straddles North and South Dakota.

Bold and brightly emblazoned signs numbered among the dozens, bolstering the ranks of those of who walked from Olympic Plaza and across Stephen Avenue to spread the word.
