We Day Alberta brings together youth leading change

What started almost 20 years ago as a small group of 12-year-olds aiming to help free children from poverty, has become a young generation's movement to help make a difference in local and global causes.

Last Monday, November 3, We Day came to Calgary in celebration of the combined efforts and volunteer work of students in Alberta - a total of 14.6 millions hours. From motivational speakers, to Juno-award winning artists, to Canadian astronaut Dave Williams, the combination of energy, education, and inspiration at this event was unlike any other.

Students participated in an afternoon of classroom lessons, viewed performances, and listened to motivational speakers addressing social issues on how they can take continue taking change into their own hands. Students received a ticket to We Day by taking on one local and one global action for change within the past year.
