A look at one Calgarian’s remarkable journey
Chelsea Gillum, a 23-year-old Mount Royal University student, worked from December 2009 to January 2010 in Uganda as a social worker, and says her experiences there influenced her outlook on life and choice of studies.
She now appreciates things like access to water or access to education that she took for granted before.

After she graduates from Mount Royal’s social work program in 2014, she is planning on going back to Uganda to work there.
