It’s not every day one goes from bullied to martial arts expert, but that’s exactly what Calgary’s Brian Bird did. Bullied and picked on as a kid, Bird is now a leader in the Brazilian jiu-jitsu community.

Enthusiasm for the sport has made the tournament ring Champion’s Creed like a second home to Bird, where he teaches Calgarians to master the art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

But Bird’s work in martial arts is still important to him personally, as he looks to the sport to create new opportunities for his son to grow.

Follow the link below to learn more about Bird’s journey and see how he plans to use Brazillian jiu-jitsu to help his son in the future.
