City Hall

The 12th Street S.E. Bridge linking Inglewood and the Calgary Zoo, originally designed for horse and buggy transportation when it was built back in 1908, and until recently heavily used by vehicles and pedestrians, is finally being replaced.

It’s been three and a half years since the Calgary floods, and with the support of City Council a new River Access Strategy will be implemented over the next few years to improve safety and accessibility for Calgarians.

More than 200 individuals gathered outside Calgary City Hall as activists begin to speak at the top of the stairs leading into the building.

With more than 80 per cent of Calgary’s city council being male, many argue women’s issues are not being represented properly in municipal politics. However, Ask Her is fighting to create a gender balanced local government.
