MRU's scholarship institute one of a kind in Canada

Learning the craft of teaching is a lifelong process.

That was precisely what Miriam Carey, a professor of policy studies at Mount Royal University (MRU), experienced when she took part in a new program run by MRU's Institute for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

On Oct. 1, the Progressive Conservative Party (PC) of Alberta will have a new leader, which means Alberta will have a new premier. 

The dash to the finish consists of three runners: Gary Mar, Alison Redford and Doug Horner.  

As the sun set over Connaught Park on a warm fall evening, hundreds of men and women gathered as part of Calgary's 28th annual "Take back the Night" rally. The event took place Sept. 23 in southwest Calgary.

They gathered to raise awareness about violence against women. The event started with lighting candles. This was followed by speeches and songs from women in the community.

Funding, lack of volunteers cited
