Canadian Liberal MP Kent Hehr (left) was a VIP guest at the Chinese New Year Carnival in Chinatown Calgary and participated in the eye-dotting ceremony. When new lions or dragons are made, the eye-dotting ceremony is traditionally performed to bring the creatures to life.
Ken Leong (right) leads the dragon during the dance at the Calgary Chinese Cultural Center to ring in the new Chinese year. The dragon, performed by the Canadian Honan Shaolin Golden Dragon Team, are all well practiced Shaolin martial artists.
