A glimpse inside The Spectacle, Beakerhead’s sold out event
Beakerhead’s annual September festival brings incredible artwork and exhibitions directly into the heart of the city. The multi-day festival also features many different events that seamlessly combine both art and science.
One of the most popular events — rightfully dubbed The Spectacle — contains some of the festival’s most awe-inspiring pieces all conveniently found in one location. Taking place in Prince’s Island Park on Sept. 21, the event sold out days in advance.

One of the metal flowers from the piece called Efflorescence shoots a fireball into the sky during the night of Beakerhead’s The Spectacle which took place on Sept. 21, 2019.

One attendee of The Spectacle gets up-close and personal with an installation.

This piece, called The Portal, not only lights up and intermittently spouts fire, but allows spectators to walk through it (and pose for the perfect Instagram picture of course).

These are the only mushrooms that are not considered contraband at The Spectacle.

This 10.6 metre tall polar bear aims to bring awareness to the many threats facing wild populations of the animal, including climate change and habitat loss.

Bowser was able to get away from the Mushroom Kingdom in order to make an appearance at the event.

Incase you didn’t believe that The Portal actually shoots flames, here it is in action.
