Calgary Hitmen break the Kootenay Ice 7-3
The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Kootenay Ice 7-3 on Nov. 11, powered by a four point night from forwards James Malm and Carson Focht, who each had a goal and three assists. The victory snapped a three game losing streak for the Hitmen, their first win since Nov. 2. Calgary is out on the road for a seven game road trip, touring down into the United States. Their next home game comes on Saturday, Dec. 1 against the Edmonton Oil Kings.

A big shot – and a big goal for the Hitmen’s Tye Carriere. Carriere scored his second of the season at 8:41 of the third period to give the Hitmen a two-goal lead.
Cameron Hausinger of the Ice is laid out by the Hitmen’s Mark Kastelic, who was assessed a two minute penalty for tripping. Kastelic would get the last laugh however, scoring his fifteenth goal of the season later on in the game.
Calgary forward Riley Stotts had a big three-point night for the Hitmen, capped off by this goal where he cut to the slot and buried it past Kootenay’s Duncan McGovern on the blocker side. For Stotts, it was his third goal of the season, and second on the night, to give the Hitmen a commanding 6-3 lead in the third.
