Calgary Youth Orchestra christens nearly complete Bella Concert Hall at MRU Open House
Mount Royal University offered a sneak peek to the Bella Concert Hall, Saturday, Jan. 25. The building will be the new home for teachers and students associated with the Conservatory and dozens of empty classrooms will soon be filled with the sounds of music education programs.
Over 30 musicians from the Calgary Youth Orchestra were invited to play in the main hall, which is still under construction.
The new 773-seat auditorium will provide space for many large performances. It was designed with Alberta's cultural and rural heritage in mind — including a giant wild rose sculpture on the ceiling.
The Bella Concert Hall is set to open later this year.
