Calgary is known for its diversity of cuisine selection and it can now add Indigenous Comfort food to the list.

Today is International Women’s Day and as part of this celebration, women across the world will be protesting the economic, social and political discrimination they face on a daily basis.

Canadian universities are struggling to address the education recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s final report. But Mount Royal University has already taken steps in that direction and will be deciding soon how best to implement its plans for Indigenization.

At this year’s ImagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival, I had the privilege of having a film I directed screened in Toronto. The event ran from Oct. 19-23, and showed part of the Fresh Takes program, which showcased works from new filmmakers like my film, Indian Giver.
