LUZIA is the 38th original production of Cirque du Soleil since the company launched in 1984, and this delightfully imaginative and visually stunning production runs at Stampede Park until Sept. 15.
The name LUZIA is derived from the merging of the sound of “luz” (light in Spanish) and “lluvia” (rain), two concepts at the centre of the show.
LUZIA is a lyrical and gymnastic ode to the extraordinarily vivacious culture of Mexico, a country that enthuses astonishment with its spectacular scenery and architectural wonders, compelled by the unconquerable spirit of its people.
LUZIA is going to take Calgary audiences on a mesmerizing journey, with beautiful visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, to an imaginary Mexico.
