A common stereotype of university students is their love of drinking and partying.

But drinking trends are changing for some young Albertans who are leaving alcohol out of their social events and activities. 

Across Alberta, alcohol consumption is on the decline, with nearly two litres less alcohol purchased per person in 2020 compared to 2007, according to Statistics Canada

Popular Inglewood breweries Burn Block Social Club and Cold Garden keep an eye on current drinking trends, promote positive community involvement, and actively expand their non-alcoholic offerings and create community-based events.

Their goal is to create welcoming spaces for both drinkers and non-drinkers to socialize.
