Being an artist allows you to express your feelings creatively.

Using your tools to convey a message that translates ideas.

Art therapists are no different than regular therapists.

Jenne Newman, a Calgary art therapist, is focused on a strength-based approach when dealing with her clients.

“They’re bringing me their strengths as well as their pain and heartache. And that I really help them believe that they have everything inside them to start doing their own healing,” said Newman.

Many types of art can be used as therapeutic media, such as drawing, painting, photography, clay modelling, tattooing, music, and poetry.

Each has its own unique properties, allowing users to express themselves freely and without judgment.
