Investigative journalist and Toronto Star columnist Justin Ling told a Calgary audience we live in a time of lies on Wednesday night.
The acclaimed reporter and author, who has written for Vice, Wired and Foreign Policy, delivered Mount Royal University’s inaugural Journalism Spotlight Lecture.

The long-time journalist warned the audience that people are being sucked into a swirling vortex of misinformation, conspiracy theories, alternative media and troll bots.
The result, said Ling, is a world that can be changed and altered at will by oligarchs and bad actors.
