Telus Spark Science Centre celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday by showcasing various career opportunities  in trades.

Interactive booths filled a giant hall with activities for kids and young people.

Presented by PCL Construction, people had the opportunity to learn from women with careers in welding, engineering and electrical work.

The women in trades discussed how to build careers in STEAM — science, technology, engineering, arts and math — starting from a young age.

Visitors could also participate in hands-on activities, including soldering and wood-burning art.  “See what you can build in a day of trades fun,” the website encouraged, and the eager learners certainly did that.
