Calgarians bundled up in late February to watch  Cold Cut: Calgary’s Canadian Ice Carving Championship, which took place at the two Calgary Farmers’ Market locations.

The three-day competition featured six ice carvers working with 30 blocks of ice, competing for the Golden Cleaver Trophy.

The event aims to showcase ice carving as a unique form of live art. Alongside the competition, visitors enjoyed a live DJ performance, s’more-making, and maple taffy, drawing in families and market visitors.
