On March 31, the Whitehorn Community Hall buzzed with activity as the Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary organized an Eid Bazaar ahead of the Eid celebrations.
The event attracted a sizable crowd, with local vendors offering an array of clothing, jewelry, and traditional cuisine. Attendees immersed themselves in the festivities, indulging in face painting and henna art.

Event organizer Rahath Milton emphasized the event’s significance for the community.
“We have a big Bangla community, we are Muslim and Eid will be here soon,” says Milton.
Aksa Kabir, a participant and henna artist at the bazaar, shared sentiments of nostalgia. “Small events like this bring back memories, and when I see kids with henna on their hands, it reminds me of my childhood. I love being at this kind of event,” says Kabir
The Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary Eid Bazaar served as a platform for communal bonding and cultural celebration. It showcased the vibrant traditions of Calgary’s Muslim community, fostering a sense of unity and belonging among attendees.
