Political leaders have shared messages this morning encouraging Albertans to cast a ballot. Premier Danielle Smith shared a video and caption saying that Albertans should vote yes to the first nine referendum questions, and “vote for a stronger Alberta within a united Canada.”
NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi shared a post asking Albertans to vote no to the nine referendum questions and vote to stay in Canada.
Prime Minister Mark Carney shared a message saying that Albertans should vote to stay in Canada. He shared a clip from a pro-unity rally he attented in Red Deer, Alta., last friday.
Mayor Jeromy Farkas also shared a video on instagram urging Calgarians to vote. Farkas also spoke about the fire at CFB Wainwright yesterday, asking Calgarians to consider donating blood or plasma to help those affected.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre shared a video also supporting Albertans to vote to stay in Canada.
While political leaders overwhelmingly support Albertans voting to stay in Canada, some voters feel Alberta should separate.
