The Airdrie Bisons skated to a 1-1 draw against the Northwest Calgary Athletic Association (NWCAA) Flames in Alberta Elite Hockey league action earlier this month.
Bisons head coach Bobby Roy told the Calgary Journal in an interview, that though it was not a win, he left the game positive about the season as the team rebuilds with a younger, newer group of players.
The Airdrie side left for Edmonton on Thanksgiving long weekend for an elite hockey showcase, where they played against their host, the Edmonton Junior Oilers Orange and the LJAC Whilhauk Beef Jerky Oil Kings — losing to both teams.
The Bisons currently sit fifth in the league’s south division, while the Flames are in eighth.
The two teams are scheduled to face each other again later this U18 Triple-A season, on Nov. 22 and Dec. 20.
