Beyond the Blue Bin offers an inside look at Calgary’s recycling system by focusing on the three Rs – reduce, reuse, recycle. Currently, Canada recycles only nine per cent of the waste generated in the country, however, there are some solutions to increase this number.

While recycling tends to be a main focus in sustainability, reduction tends to be forgotten but is the first step toward a greener future. Using green role models throughout the community, we highlight their stories and provide tips and tricks to begin living more sustainably.
