The Art Club and the Cozy Crafters Club at MRU are teaming up for a Valentine’s event on Feb. 12: Entry fee is five dollars for a chance to make Valentine-themed cards, crochet patches and hot chocolate!

Black History Month at the Calgary Public Library: The library has resources and events all month long, including a film screening and talks by authors, artists and activists.

Artist highlight!
Ralph Escamillan is a talented dancer and performance artist as well as a teacher and choreographer in the Western Canadian performance art scene. Ralph has a wealth of experience dancing in the industry and worked with choreographers like Kenny Ortega and more.
He has his own company called FakeKnot that utilizes costumes and performances featuring a Philippine cast. Not only are they incredible dancer he is also a fixture of the ballroom scene since 2014. Escamillian founded his own house called Kiki House of Gvasalia and is also a member of the House of Basquiat in Toronto. He also uses his time to be the artistic/executive director of Van Vogue Jam a non-profit organization that offers weekly classes and vouge balls.
