Hello everyone, and happy Saturday!

The past few weeks seem to be flying by, whether that is due to the general state of the world or to final exam schedules being posted in the midst of midterms, will remain a mystery to this group of editors.

Truthfully, trying to stay positive when the world feels like it is falling apart is quite the challenge, but we will never stop showing up to deliver the news and, hopefully, put a smile on your face.

On that note, Saint Patrick’s Day is coming up next week, so don’t forget to wear green and possibly have a pint in honour of the Irish!

For all you movie enthusiasts, the 98th Academy Awards will be taking place tomorrow from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Many people are wondering who will win this year’s Oscar for best picture?

Soccer fans (or football in Europe, haha) are also getting excited, as the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is only 89 days away.

In case you missed it, journalist and Toronto Star columnist Justin Ling delivered MRU’s inaugural Journalism Spotlight Lecture: Telling the Truth in Hyperreality: Journalism in a Time of Lies. You can watch Ling’s talk here.
