We are already halfway through the winter semester. What is even going on? Here in the Calgary Journal newsroom, we are gearing up for a month of events and celebrations.
On Friday, the Paralympic opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Games in Milano-Cortina kicked off the 10 days of competition with eye-catching performances. As the games in Italy begin, important discussions are being planned at MRU.

We highly recommend attending both events, as they will offer valuable information and learning opportunities.

International Women’s Day will be celebrated worldwide tomorrow, and this team of ladies will be sure to hype up our fellow women in journalism and all fields of work. You go, girls!
