A pleasantly unexpected twist to a common dessert

Recipe makes 12 cupcakes.
Ingredients for batter:
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 12 Reese’s peanut butter cups
Ingredients for icing:
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 2/3 of cocoa
- 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
- 1/3 of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl, whisk butter and sugar together, beat one egg at a time into mixture. Mix in vanilla.
In another bowl, mix in flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Slowly add to the wet ingredients; stir in milk.
Place 12 cupcake tins into a muffin tray, place one peanut butter cup into each. Fill each tin two thirds with batter, bake for 18 minutes.
Icing directions:
Mix the melted butter and cocoa together, alternate adding the powdered sugar and milk. Stir in vanilla.
