From his humble beginnings as a video store clerk to curating films for showcase around the city, Calgary-based filmmaker Trevor Smith lives and breathes for film.

Aside from his work as a curator, Smith also is heavily involved in media production — working not only with the production team for CBC’s Heartland, but also creating his first documentary with Albertan musicians, the smalls.

The project was a labour of love, as Smith had his sights on music at MacEwan University prior to getting involved with film.
