Fifth-year basketball player Josh Ross of the Mount Royal University Cougars takes us through his day in between a back-to-back night face-off against their inner-city rivals, and the eventual national champions, the University of Calgary Dinos. These games played back in February were going to decide if the Cougars would qualify for the playoffs.
The Iowa native, transferred to Mount Royal University in 2016 to play in his final two years of U Sports playing eligibility. In his last season, he put up stellar numbers averaging 20.4 points per game, scoring 407 points for the total season and a total of 44 steals earning himself a spot in the Canada West conference Second Team All-Stars and earned himself MVP of the team for the 2017-2018 season.

Outside of basketball, Ross now also has new responsibilities at home as a father while trying to balance life as a student athlete. Last year, Ross and his girlfriend, Amanda Keane, welcomed daughter Gracelynn. Balancing education, athletics and parenthood is not an easy task, but Ross makes it look easy. Ross is graduating in 2018 with a bachelor of arts degree.
