Powwow competitors gathered for music and dancing at the Siksika Nation annual powwow and fair at the Piiksapi Memorial Arbour over the weekend. The weekend festivities were from August 9-11 east of Calgary.
Tipis were set up around the central gathering place for watchers and travellers who attended the event.
Amid overcast skies, campers set up around the circular map of the grounds on the valley floor.
Spectators took in various styles of dance, including Grass, Fancy, Jingle and Prairie Chicken, as dancers competed for points from a panel of judges.
The competition also included drum groups performing four- to five-minute sets.
