Liberal supporters gathered intently to watch the election play out on the big screen at the Palace Theatre on Monday night. Attendees cheered as the Liberals gained seats and watched solemnly as Calgary Centre Liberal representative Kent Hehr was defeated. In his final speech – which left many emotional – Hehr discussed his pride for his party and their message, as well as his hope for the future of Calgary Centre, which is being left in the hands of the Conservative party.
“I’ve gotten to share my life with people, far and wide, hear their hopes, their cares, their concerns, and it has truly been an honour to work alongside them,” Hehr said.
