Fans have been absent from the Calgary Flames games dating back to March 8, 2020 — when the Flames lost against the Vegas Golden Knights. Since fans last entered the Saddledome the Stanley Cup has been awarded to the Tampa Bay Lightning twice.
However, on Sept. 26, approximately 8,500 fans finally got their first opportunity to watch the team in-person by following Alberta Health Services COVID-19 guidelines. Many of those fans left unhappy as the Oilers thumped the Flames 4-0.
