December is often referred to as the “season of giving” and you may be wondering how to give back to your community this month. One organization to consider donating to this holiday season is the Calgary Drop-in Centre.

The Calgary Drop-In Centre is a local organization that provides essential care such as health services and housing support to Calgarians experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

As the weather gets colder there are more demands for cold weather clothing and other items.

The Calgary Drop-In Centre’s website says they’re in need of the following items:

  • Furniture
  • New underwear
  • Razors
  • Tylenol or Advil
  • Throat lozenges
  • Lysol wipes
  • New or gently used towels
  • Backpacks
  • Toques
  • Gloves and mitts
  • Winter boots, which are critically low
  • Snow pants

The centre is also holding a service tonight to remember those who have died experiencing homelessness. It can be streated starting at 6 p.m.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUyOj6AyCEw
