The Calgary Hitmen withstood a highlight-reel goal from Regina Pats star Connor Bedard to beat the visitors last month at the Saddledome.
The snipe from the 16-year-old phenom is already being touted as a candidate for goal of the year but it wasn’t enough, as the Hitmen won in overtime 5-4 on Feb. 6.
The Pats had their revenge on their home ice on Feb. 11 when they shut out the Hitmen 5-0. The Hitmen would win the next game against the Pats in a overtime battle, 4-3 at the Saddledome on Feb. 27.
The Hitmen are currently seventh in the WHL’s Eastern Conference, with 47 points while the Pats are in 10th place with 41 points.
