An aggressive battle between the two rival schools resulted in a highly penalized game, with a total of 6 yellow cards called throughout the match at Mount Royal’s field two.
The Cougars were first to open the scoring when Ethan Keen sent a pass across finding Alex Kemsley in the 18-yard box, who headed the ball directly into the net to give his team a 1-0 lead.

Later in the game, a penalty kick taken by Dinos Gianmarco Plenzik led to a goal that brought the game to a 1-1 tie.
The two teams battled fiercely until the final whistle, but despite their efforts, neither side found the back of the net again. In the end, they settled for a hard-fought draw, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.
With only four games remaining in the season, MRU looks forward to dialing-in their game to secure their spot as the first seed to host the 2024-2025 Canada West Men’s Soccer Championship.
