On Nov. 23, the Alberta Rescue Foundation (ARF) will be hosting a holiday market onsite at 3548-27 St. N.E. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. packed with all things pet-related. It will offer opportunities to shop for the holidays. Whether you’re looking for unique pet supplies or just want to enjoy a fun day out with your furry friends, this event has something for everyone.
“This event is not just about holiday shopping—it’s about giving back to the animals in our care. Every dollar raised helps us continue to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need,” says Tanaya Jilg, the organization’s executive director.
ARF is Calgary’s largest pet food bank, providing over 70,000 pounds of food donations to animals in need. In partnership with Amazon, ARF has also secured outdoor heated pet houses to keep furry companions warm during the colder months. “With more than 200 volunteers, ARF is committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of animals and their families across the city,” says Jilg.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their pets, enjoy delicious treats, and support a cause that makes a difference for animals in Calgary.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Holiday shopping: Find the perfect gifts for your pets and yourself with ARF’s exclusive merchandise, pet supplies, and pet gear.
- Bake sale: Treats for both you and your pets!
- Online auction: Bid on items, with all proceeds going towards supporting ARF’s mission to help animals in need.
- Holiday photos of your pets: Capture the festive spirit with a walk-in photo session for you and your pets by @thousandwoofs.
- Pet stockings and surprise bags: Festive stockings and surprise bags full of goodies for your pet.
