With a record-breaking attendance of slightly more than 13,000 at the 2025 Crowchild Classic, the University of Calgary Dinos secured their dominance with wins in both the men’s and women’s games.
The Crowchild Classic hockey match happened on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
The University of Calgary Dinos and Mount Royal University Cougars women’s and men’s hockey teams faced off at the annual event.
The women’s game began at 4:30 p.m., ending with a 2-1 victory for the Dinos. The teams were initially tied, and there was still no winner after going into overtime. The shootout determined the U of C women’s hockey team as the winner with a 1-0 shootout score in their favour. The men’s hockey match started at 7:30 p.m. and ended with a 4-0 victory for the Dinos.
