Muslim Voices for Palestine (MVP), an organization based in Calgary that focuses on advocacy efforts in support of Palestine, recently held a demonstration at city hall, demanding urgent action on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Thousands marched through downtown, chanting loudly and carrying signs.

Organizers also emphasized solidarity with Indigenous peoples in Canada and in advance of National Truth and Reconciliation Day on Sept. 30.

Calgary Journal reporter Laila Malik reports from the protest.

MVP has held daily silent protests for the past 25 weeks, every Monday to Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
