Three people face drug and firearm charges after police seized loaded weapons and an estimated $240,000 worth of drugs and cash in a Calgary-based trafficking investigation.
Alberta police charged the suspects on Jan. 7 following an investigation that began in July 2025 into alleged drug trafficking in the city.
As part of the investigation, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) searched two Calgary addresses — a home in Castleridge and a hotel suite — as well as four vehicles linked to the suspects.
Police seized three loaded firearms from the vehicles, including a handgun and a sawed-off shotgun that had both been reported stolen. The third firearm had its serial number removed.
ALERT also seized 1,575 grams of methamphetamine, 1,263 grams of cocaine, 511 grams of fentanyl and about $47,000 in cash.
“The combination of firearms and drugs is a significant threat to maintaining our safe communities,” ALERT Insp. Gerry Francois said in a news release on Thursday.
Kole Menzies, 26, and Nilesh (Nathan) Naidu, 27, both of Calgary, and Lance Fisher, 28, of Carstairs, Alta. face drug-related charges and various firearms offences.
ALERT said it received assistance from the Calgary Police Service, the Vancouver Police Department, the Banff RCMP, and the Didsbury RCMP.
