The Mount Royal University Cougars and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat men’s and women’s volleyball teams started the two-day Canada West series in late January.
Held at Mount Royal University’s Kenyon Court, the he women’s teams opened the two-game evening.
UBCO’s women’s team set the tone early in the opening set, but the Cougars responded in the second set and won 25-15, bringing MRU to a 3-1 win.
To follow was the men’s game, which started at 8 p.m.
UBCO led 2-1 after three sets, but the Cougars won the fourth set to force a fifth.
UBCO claimed the fifth set 15-13 after a tight match.
