Alberta RCMP say a 47-year-old woman fell from a cliff and died while hiking in Kananaskis on Saturday.

Cpl. Mathew Howell says the Airdrie, Alta., woman was hiking Mount Bryant with a group of friends and family when she fell down a cliffside.

Mount Bryant is located in the Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park, southwest of Calgary.

RCMP were called about the fall at about 10:30 a.m., with STARS Air Ambulance responding.

Howell believes her body was later recovered with the help of a rescue team.

Police do not consider the death suspicious.
