Mountain bike riders from around the world competed at the Canmore Nordic Centre over the weekend in the only Canadian stop in this year’s Union Cycliste International (UCI) Mountain Bike Continental series.

The international race – which attracted athletes from as far away as Chile and New Zealand – drew riders from nine countries, seven provinces and 26 U.S. states.

The Canmore MTB Classic included the traditional Cross Country Olympic (XCO) race and a Cross Country Short Circuit (XCC) race.

The UCI Mountain Bike Continental races are a premier global series for professional mountain bikers that spans North America, Asia, and Europe and runs annually from May to October.

The series is a crucial feeder system, providing riders a path to reach the elite WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series.

Competitors competed for valuable UCI points at the Canmore MTB Classic.
