​Here are some fun things we have been following:

​Punch, the baby Japanese macaque that went viral online for stealing hearts, has recently started finding his way among the rest of the troop. Based in Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan, Punch had a rough beginning, being rejected by his mother and bullied by the group. Fortunately, with things turning around, we are both thrilled to see Punch doing better and bonding with other macaques each passing day.

On a more comedic note, Saturday Night Live (SNL) has recently released a teaser for an upcoming video featuring Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie. It turns out he has mastered more than just a Russian accent.

​While Canadians are still reeling from the double loss to the U.S. hockey teams at the recent Winter Olympic Games, a certain rapper has put a smile back on many faces. After a controversial phone call between President Trump and the men’s team went viral online, Flavor Flav stole the spotlight in a way that empowered the U.S. women’s Olympic teams. Flav has been a public supporter of female athletes and plans to host a summer event called “SHE GOT GAME,” running from July 16-19.

Ayuba Suleiman Diallo was painted by William Hoare, a West African Muslim from a family of religious leaders in Senegal. His family was involved in the transatlantic slave trade, and he was eventually kidnapped and sold to a tobacco farm in Maryland. He was later freed after being taken to London and returned home to West Africa. The Qur’an around his neck was written by memory during the year he spent in England. PHOTO: QUINN MCRAE
