A Navy Seal invented an exercise available at recreation centres
TRX is a suspension-training workout that can be done in a class setting or on your own, with the right equipment.
It was invented by a former Navy Seal and is now popular at recreation centres around Calgary.
Stephanie Vahaaho is a fitness instructor who teaches TRX. “It’s a fun way of doing some group training,” she says. ” You have others around you to cheer you on to motivate you rather than going to the gym and picking up a set of dumbbells and doing it on your own.”
She has been teaching TRX for about 4 years now.
Rowena Wake likes that there is less equipment than other exercises.
“It’s just a really great workout,” she says.
