Zumba event aims to raise awareness and money for cancer prevention study

Over 200 people enjoyed an afternoon of Zumba recently at the Talisman Centre as part of Fit for Tomorrow. A community of dancers known as Fit for Change organized the event to raise awareness and money for the Tomorrow Project.
The Tomorrow Project hopes that by creating a base of health information they will be able to learn more about what causes cancer and how it can be prevented.
Heather Williams, a cancer survivor, arrived at the event ready to dance. She shared her story to the roomful of people, in the hopes that she would inspire someone to join the project. All proceeds raised at the event went towards the Tomorrow Project. The event raised nearly $15,000 for the research study.
