Congratulations on surviving the bitter cold. This week has already been a welcome reprieve from the minus-30 weather that kicked off the new year. The semester at MRU is well underway and we have some of the most interesting news that this week has to offer.

The annual Crowchild Classic hockey games took place Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, with the Cougars and Dinos taking one game each. Zach was there, as was Sannah Chawdhry and El Reid, who took some incredible photos.

Career Expo: The MRU Career Expo is fast approaching. On Jan. 31, and Feb. 1, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Main Street, MRU Career Services is hosting the 2024 career expo. There will be networking opportunities, career insights, and career and internship opportunities. You can register to guarantee your spot here

Wycked House Beach Party: A barbie themed party for Mount Royal students held at the West Gate Social. The event promises music and fun, with live DJs and a breezy beach vibe to kick off the semester. More information here. 

Artist Highlight

This week’s artist highlight is Jennifer Bain, an multimedia artist and puppeteer from British Columbia, now based in Calgary. Bain has worked for several television shows, most recently the second season of the 2022 Fraggle Rock reboot. As a graphic designer and set decorator Bain has also worked on shows like Fargo and Wynonna Earp. More information on Bain and her work here.
