Calgary Journal

It’s the last week of February, and the weather is finally warm again! It’s the perfect weather for building snowmen, having snowball fights, and finally not slipping on the roads, so if there’s ever been a time to enjoy winter, it’s now. As usual, the threat of tariffs hangs in the news, and Canadian patriotism continues to soar. Over the past week, every Canadian seemed fixated on the NHL’s 4 Nation’s Face Off, with over 16 million people watching Canada’s overtime win against the United States on February 20th.

In between your time enjoying the warm weather, we’ve got lots of stories for you to read, including:

  • The latest Tariff news
  • MRU sports recaps
  • Details on city events

And more!

Thanks for tuning in, and have a great week!

Why did you want to go into journalism?

When I was in high school, Journalism was always on my radar. I had a passion for storytelling and loved writing. I share a bigger passion for digital media, as there is just something about being able to create and share content that engages an audience instantly. Compiling videos and turning them into a story is just so mesmerizing, so I hope to be doing something along these lines in the near future.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love reading and anything interior design really. I either have my head buried in a book, or designing spaces for friends and family.

What was your favourite piece you’ve written for the Calgary Journal?

I love animals! So, about a year ago, I did a story about a pet expert sharing her tips on owning a cat and maintaining it in general. I got to hang out with cats all day. It was great.
